Trends for window treatments in 2021
Trends for window treatments in 2021 all center on nature and recreating those feelings of freedom and openness we get from being outside in nature (probably because for most we’ll be spending more time than we’d like at home and inside this year). So, whether it is mimicking the expansive feel of outdoor space and natural light or incorporating natural elements like wood or including designs with natural motifs; in the new year it’s all about bringing the outdoors in.
TREND #1 – NATURAL LIGHT
Like we saw in 2020, the popularity of sheer shades continues to grow as a preferred custom window treatment. The sheer fabric in these types of window covers allows natural light to enter, but reduces glare allowing for view-through sun protection. So, you see the benefit of both natural light and unobstructed views with sheer shades, which makes the space feel more open and expansive.
